No Need to Be Afraid of Death

By Lateef Adekunle

The issue of death could be viewed from two perspectives: First, as soul searching and second an interesting one. It is soul searching because death is the only thing in life that many people are either afraid to talk about, or even forget that it exist . Some would rather not think about it at all until it eventually catches up with them one day. It is however, interesting because it is an area researchers are trying to come up with a solution but has not yet succeeded. The so called cloning is never a substitute for earthly death.

Whether we believe it or not, the end of life is death. The reason been that once a person or any living thing is born into this life sooner a later it is meant to face the inevitable-death. Death is the only phenomenon known to human that can never be escaped. All the religions in the world also accept the infallibility of this dreaded, fearful but necessary process. It is a process and a phase in human existence. Anything that is created must actually submit to the inevitable: destruction, death. The reality on the ground suggests to the contrary. And it is rather confounding the way and manner people react when the issue of death is mentioned. Some people don't even think about it, others does on minute , hourly and daily basis. Any of the divide you belong, it is necessary to always have a thought on the end of life but not to make it an impediment on the purpose of creation in the first place.

In the final analysis, my advise on bracing up to the inevitable is that: anything you do not have control over, the best option is to live by it and not fret over it at all. But human beings find it difficult to do either because they are materialistic in nature and have allowed the physical and the love of the world to override their spiritual and the hereafter. Therefore, just as you do not know when you were born, you may not know when you will die either. Since you do not have any feeling at birth, assume that same will be in death. But remember, death is inevitable, it must catch up with you anywhere, anyhow at the appointed time.
